 How to Make Specimen Cards

Hello everyone!  Today I would like to show you how I made these little specimen cards using pages from my newest Cut & Create Ephemera Book (that is now available on Amazon), some old papers, and a little cereal box.  So please keep reading if this is something you would like to know how to do.

How to Make Specimen Cards

Here is what I used:

Small Cereal Box
Cut & Create Dragonfly Delight Ephemera Book
2 page tabs, I used 2 that is in the Cut & Create Ephemera Book
Old Ephemera Paper
Washi Tape
Glue Stick
Cellophane
1.25 Hole Punch
Scissors
Stapler

First take apart the cereal box and flatten it as much as you.

Select the ephemera you plan to use.  I used 2 pages from the Cut & Create Ephemera Book along with 1 book page & a dictionary page.  Tear the ephemera into small strips and glue it in no particular order but make sure to cover as much of the box as you can.

Now trim off the sides of the box, leaving about a 2.5 inch wide strip.  I trimmed where the box was originally folded. Now fold it in half.

Take your 1.25 Hole Punch and punched a hole in 1 side of the folded strip.

Now turn the strip over, glue a small piece of the cellophane over the hole you just punched.  While that dries on the opposite side glue a piece of ephemera and top it with a little dragonfly from the Cut & Create Ephemera Book.

Write "Fig #1" and "Fig #2" on the page tabs & attach them to 1 side of the folder card.
Now close the cards & secure them shut using the stapler.

You can get 2 small specimen cards from one mini cereal box.  The finished specimen cards mesure approximately 2 inches in size.
